Home Learning – Weekly Challenges

Weekly creative challenges.

The teachers have put together weekly challenges for home learning to be shared every weekend until we can return to school and get back to normal. The challenges are just something extra to the learning packs we sent home and will hopefully provide a little inspiration during this very strange time.

The challenges are in a basic timetable for the week, but you can alter to suit your own needs and are simply designed to have a little creative fun each day. You don’t have to do them all, but we would love to see your achievements via your Tapestry link when complete one.

Good luck from everyone at St Mary’s.

P4C - Philosophy for Children

For the last few year we have introduced a Philosophy for Children (P4C) approach to our learning in school, setting a topical question each week that we discuss with the children during the week to find out their opinions and possible solutions. We do this to develop injury based learning and improve the debating and communication skills, all of which are crucial to becoming a robust and resilient learner of the future.

To allow you to continue the P4C at home we will be uploading some of the resources we use each week to our website while the school is closed for you to use. Please show the children, they all have experience of the questions asked in Mr Hilton’s assemblies, so should be confident in explaining how we use them in school to start a conversation.
